Umphrey’s Checks Off Four In the Midwest
Umphrey’s made their first appearance in the Midwest of 2023, playing four shows last weekend, appearing in Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids, Detroit and Cleveland. These shows marked the 8th through 11th concerts of what promises to be a busy tour year. Umphrey’s is back on the road this upcoming weekend, playing one night in Madison before heading to Minnesota for back to back shows at 1st Avenue. The Madison show, live from the Sylvee, will be video broadcast via Nugs.net. Directed by Keith Griner, this stream is free for Nugs.net subscribers.
Umphrey’s Silver Ticket Contest has Come and Gone
Umphrey’s has announced winners for their Silver Ticket Contest! This special contest celebrated Umphrey’s silver anniversary by offering fans a chance at winning a once in a lifetime opportunity. Similar to the annual ‘Golden Ticket’ contest, Umphreaks purchased unique gift bags – filled with at least thirty-five dollars’ worth of merchandise – and the chance to win ‘Free Umphrey’s Shows for a Year’. The winners were announced yesterday afternoon via twitter, with the grand prize going to Jeffrey M. Other special prices included signed posters, Umphrey’s coin sets, and a rare pressing of the band’s first live album, ‘Songs for Older Women’.
Umphrey’s Archival Release
Umphrey’s is releasing an archival recording series through umlive and nugs.net. This series features soundboard quality unreleased material, starting with January 23rd, 2003. This Bloomington Indiana show was Kris Myers’ first with the band, and features fantastic renditions of Umphrey’s classics like DBK and Synchopated Strangers.
