Joel Cummins and the (Moved) Roosevelt Collier Colorado Get Down!

This week, without warning, Denver’s 1up Colfax announced that it would stop hosting live music events in its space, turning instead to emphasize the traditional barcade experience that has long set it aside from other Beer Halls in Denver. Umphreaks have looked on 1up Colfax as a small but active hub of Umphrey’s related events – from Umphrey’s McGee hosting the first 1up show in December 2013, to the many Joel and Kris superjam appearances which assured improvisational mastery in a easy-to-access environment. It appeared as though some umphcoming Umphrey’s related shows in the near-future would be certainly cancelled.

Enter: Quixote’s True Blue on 13th.

The amazing team at MusicMarauders quickly pivoted to the classic Denver venue, allowing for the amazing Roosevelt Collier superjam to move forward this upcoming weekend. Joel Cummins, beloved keyboard magician extraordinaire, will join colleagues Roosevelt Collier (slide guitar, The Lee Boys), Billy Nershi (guitar, The String Cheese Incident), Matt Lapham (bass, Shak Nasti) and Dave Watts (dummer, The Motet). Roosevelt always assembles an amazing team for a thorough and fun improvisational “get down” and with Joel in the mix, this will most assuredly be one of the best on-the-fly jams assembled by the good “Doctor”.

The boys will be in Boulder the night before at the Fox Theatre (sans Dave Watts, but sub-in Dominic Lalli  & Jeremy Salken, plus opener Tom Hamilton’s American Babies). To purchase Tickets For 11.19, gotot www.foxtheatre.com

To Purchase Tickets For the Quixotes shows the next two nights, 11.20 & 11.21, goto www.quixotes.com

He’s a nice Soundcloud of a previous Roosevelt Collier “Get Down”, just to give a sample!
